Abstract:
This research was concerned with the optimization of solar cell efficiencies by firstly applying a magnetic field on them, and secondly by texturing on its surface with laser and then operating after laser texturing in presence of a magnetic field.
The results showed that the application of a parallel magnetic field during operation does not lead to an increase in efficiency, whereas in the case of the magnetic field is vertically on the cell the increase occurs due to hall effect.
The laser-textured cell showed an increase in efficiency of 23.9%, while the fill factor increased by 2%. The cell with a magnetic field applied vertically to it without laser texturing on its surface showed a 13% increase in efficiency, while the fill factor increased by 6%. Cells with a magnetic field applied vertically after laser texturing showed an increase in efficiency ranging from 1.3% to 7%, while their fill factors increased by 3.5% to 7%.
