dc.description.abstract Head injures continues to be enormous public health problem. Even with modern medicine,most patient have mild stages,the remaining injures aredivided equally between the moderate and severe The objective ofthis research is tostudy the role of computed tomographyin earliest and fastestdiagnosis of head injuries,and to classify types of traumabased the main causeof the traumatic brain injuries (TBI),type of lesionand type of hemorrhage. This study was conductedin Khartoum state at two centers, Khartoum Advanced Diagnostic CenterandAntalyaMedicalCenter. A sample of 50 patients,( 70% males and 30% females ) were grouped according to ageinto 7 age groups and were investigated using CT scanning to diagnose head injuries. CT findings revealed 24 positive cases (48%) and 26 negative cases (52%) The study showed that the most common cause of head trauma was Road traffic accident (RTA )(70.6%)and the 41.7% of head traumatic lesions were extradural hemorrhageand cerebral hemorrhage. The study also showed that 59.1% of fractures were in thefacial bones. Finally CT is seem to bethe diagnostic tool of choice in the diagnosis of traumaticheadinjuries compared with other imaging modalities because it is time saving en_US
