dc.description.abstract Almost in all diseases the blood undergoes major changes in chemical and biochemical properties. The study of blood by spectroscopic techniques can be used not only for understanding the biological nature of the disease, but also for the diagnosis. In the present work, a UV-Visible spectroscopy technique is employed to study the spectral differences between a healthy blood and that affected bydiabetes. Different six blood samples with different concentrations of blood glucose with different ageswere divided into two groups; group of three healthy samples and another one of diabetessamples. UV-Vis spectroscopywas used to obtain the absorption spectra of all samples in the range of 100-800 nm. Six samples showed different spectra for healthy people and patients. Diabetic blood revealed some remarkable differences are elucidatedsix peaks at different wavelengths around 290, 340, 415, 520, 590 and 760 nm. en_US
