Abstract:
The goal of this study is to find a response to the understanding problem of written texts
in French as forging language for Sudanese University's students. This problematic is a
result of weakness's understanding students due to lacuna that the students and teachers
are the principal causes in the problem. Concerning the students, the big problem is:
when they went to understand any written text, the students decompose the text into
phrases and words to understand it separately to the context. Concerning certain teachers
in teaching understanding written texts, they evaluate this skill instead of teaching it. The
goal of this study is to sensitize students and certain teachers to these points: First,
sensitize students that written text understanding can't be realized by decomposing the
text into phrases and words to understand it separately to the context, but the right way to
understand texts is to take into consideration the tow these two dimensions of texts: The
pragmatical configurational dimension and the Sequential dimension. Second, sensitize
certain teachers that written text understanding is a skill, so it must be first and
principally teached not jus evaluated as what they do
