dc.description.abstract This study was conducted at the laboratory of the Plant Pathology, Department of Plant Protection, College of Agricultural Studies, Sudan University of Science and Technology to evaluate the effect of Jatropha curcas L. seeds and leaves aqueous extract on two fungi, Fusarium solani and Aspergillus niger in culture media compared to control under laboratory conditions. Three concentrations of seeds and leaves aqueous extract (5ml, 2.5ml, and 1.25ml) were used in addition to a control treated with sterile distilled water. VII The results obtained showed that both extracts from seeds and leaves and at all concentrations exhibited an inhibitory effect on the growth of the two fungi tested compared to control. The highest inhibition effect was obtained at 5ml concentration of extract seeds as well as of leaves on each of the two fungi. Generally, the inhibition zone increase with the increase in concentration of each extract. However, the inhibitory effect of seeds extract on both fungi was more pronounced than that of leaves. In conclusion, this study showed that Jatropha seeds and leaves contain antifungal properties that could be investigated in further studies. en_US
