dc.description.abstract Future cellular networks are expected to consist of macro-cell overlaid with small-cells; these multi-tire deployments pose challenges to mobility management procedures like Handover. It's important to achieve a successful Handover procedure to reduce the probabilities of Handover Failure and Radio Link Failure which are the Handover performance metrics, by selecting appropriate Time-To-Trigger (TTT) according to inter-site distance and user's velocity; this was proposed as technique to improve the Handover performance. In this research using MATLAB to view the appropriate Time-To-Trigger value for the user for each Handover performance metrics according to the inter-site distance and user's velocity. The results indicated that the proposed technique achieved an improvement in the Handover performance by selecting appropriate Time-To-Trigger value for the user in each intersite distance for specific velocity (60Km/h). en_US
