dc.description.abstract The vertebral foramen is opening formed by the union of the vertebral arch with the body; All the vertebral foramina together form the vertebral canal, which houses the spinal cord. {Gray's Anatomy (1918)}. This study was executed to demonstrate variation in cevical vertebral foramen measurements .the study was conducted at CT department inAl-Ribat teaching Hospital ,Al-ZytounaHospital,Al-Amal National Hospital and Ebrahim Malik Hospital. This was expandedfrom March 2016 up to May2016 . 52 patients referred to CT department for normal cevical vertebral examination, both genders were included ,40were males and 12were females. The measurements ofvertebral foramenwere taken at the levels of C1up to C7 in cms for both ganders. The results showed that the means of (mm length and mm width) of (C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6 and C7) which were compared between males and female with corresponding significance values of t-tests (0.385, 0.613), (0.128, 0.442), (0.650, 0.869), (0.786, 0.909), (0.537, 0.070), (0.782, 0.047) and (0.878, 0.121), respectively for (C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6 and C7) (all of Sig. more than or equal to 0.05) which implies that, there were nostatistically significantdifferences between two groups (males and females).the means of (mm length and mm width) of (C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6 and C7) which compared between different age groups (15-25), (26-35), (36-45), (46-55), (56-65) and (more than 65 years) with corresponding significance values of F-tests (0.711, 0.952), (0.64, 0.332), (0.575, 0.357), (0.494, 0.361), (0.859, 0.519), (0.771, 0.914) and (0.721, 0.859), respectively for (C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6 and C7) (all of Sig. more than 0.05) which implies that, there were nostatisticallysignificants differences between age groups (in all Cs Size). Multi detector computed tomography is modality of choice to Characterize cervical vertebral foramen in the studded area . en_US
