dc.description.abstract |
The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of using of reading strategies on comprehending English texts، it tries to find out how students can understand a piece of reading by using reading strategies and how to encourage them to develop their reading comprehension skills . This research will attempt to provide answers for the following questions: to what extent do reading strategies taught to the secondary school's students, develop the students reading comprehension skills, and What are secondary school's students’ attitudes towards using reading comprehension strategies, and To what extent are Secondary schools teachers aware of the importance of using reading strategies, and To what extent are Secondary school's students aware of the importance of using reading strategies, Researcher used the descriptive analytical approach. Data have been collected through: a questionnaire and a test for English language students who didn’t having training in using strategies their marks were so weak on the other hands the students how having training have high marks . The main objective of the research is to solve the difficulties which face students in reading comprehension. The main findings of the study indicate that using strategies develop secondary school students reading comprehension skills. The researcher recommends the following: Teachers should adopt the reading strategies in teaching reading comprehension. They should select appropriate reading materials in terms of difficulty، cultural background and interes . |
