dc.description.abstract By the end of this study, I found that there are great effects (benefits) for using gamma rays in the medical field. Gamma ray is often used to kill living organisms, in a process called irradiation (gamma ray exposure). Applications of this include sterilization of medical equipment. Gamma rays are also used for diagnostic purposes in nuclear medicine in imaging techniques, this technique is called gamma camera. also used to treat some types of cancer .In the procedure called gamma knife surgery. en_US
