dc.description.abstract This study aimed to investigate the differences between women’s and men’s speech in Sudan specifically in Khartoum state at three localities Khartoum Omdurman and Bahari. The researcher limited (30)citizen from different localities ,from women and men as samples and the researcher used the questionnaire for data collection ,there are some results the researcher has reached into :women talk more than men, men speech is more sensitive and correct and high prestige than men, men speech is using swear and taboo expressions and speak traditionally, as they focus their speech on politics, economics and business. The researcher recommends the students of linguistics in Sudan to cover the area of sociolinguistics, because there is complete absence of writing in this filed. The majority of writing in this field from western societies en_US
