Abstract:
This research aims to describe the English vocabulary mastery and it is connection with writing ability of the students of English Department ,Level three, Faculty of Arts ,University of Khartoum . It is also to reveal the relationship between English vocabulary mastery and writing ability. The data are analyzing by using two-ways; the technique used to classify the students into three criteria and the technique used to analyze the data by using correlation coefficient Product Moment as the formula.
The results of the study show that: The average value of English vocabulary mastery of the students of English Department ,Level three, Faculty of Arts ,University of Khartoum in academic year 2015/2016 is good.. There are 80.64% of students get good categorization .
There are 58.064% or 18 students get good categorization .
It can be concluded that the high and the low of writing ability correlate with the high and the low of English vocabulary mastery. So, the conclusion of this study is there is correlation between English vocabulary mastery and writing ability of the third level students , English Deparment ,Faculty of Arts University of Khartoum
