dc.description.abstract ABSTRACT This research is concerned with analysis of ore chromite samples from the Blue Nile region. The samples were treated, powdered then subjected to a non-destructive XRF analysis to determine the elemental species. The level of elemental species was found to be Magnesium oxide (17%), Aluminium oxide (7%),ferrous oxide (15%), chromium oxide (50.18%) silicon oxide (9%). The samples were then fused at 1000 °C in the presence of sodium carbonate then dissolved in distilled water. In this process, the trivalent chromium was converted to hexavalent species, which was then determined using simple classical volumetric technique. en
