Abstract:
High voltage system becomes a very essential requirement for power transmission. The equipment used in high voltage transmission substations should meet the required specifications and be within applicable standards and manufacture tolerances to ensure that they work properly and to avoid system failure. From the above it is clear that there is a need for site acceptance tests for high voltage equipment before energizing the system. These kind of tests are called commissioning tests. In this project high voltage and insulation resistance tests are presented. Commissioning tests, their methods and their procedures are presented for power transformers, circuit breakers, and bus bars, earthing system, instrument transformers, direct current system, protective relays and power cables.
