dc.description.abstract Since the topology of the mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) is constantly changing, the issue of routing packets between any pair of nodes becomes a challenging task. Most protocols are based on reactive routing instead of proactive. Multicast routing is another challenge because the multicast tree is no longer static due to the random movement of nodes within the network. Routes between nodes may potentially contain multiple hops, which is more complex than the single hop communication. In this thesis some recent developed routing protocols are reviewed and compared using OMNeT++ (ver 4.3) Simulation. The ultimate goals are: to learn about each protocol for this kind of networks and to define and know how it works to avoid a particular problem within the network, and to find mechanisms leading to multi-hop ad hoc networks. For the comparative analysis protocols are divided into three groups: 1) Reaction Protocols (AODV & DSR ), 2) Proactive protocols (OLSR & TBRPF( , and 3) hybrid protocols. In network routing, problems related to bandwidth and a flood between the node and its neighbors as well as the problem of reducing the vulnerability of the network in the transmission process are appeared. The goal here is to calculate the optimum route according to one or several restrictions (number of hops and bandwidth maximum and minimum of the end-to-end delay). Results suggested that more delays in the protocols in the process is the exchange of information (DSR en_US
