dc.description.abstract An experiment was conducted at the Experimental Farm, College of Agricultural Studies, Sudan University of Science and Technology, Shambat, Sudan in summer 2013, to study the effect of soybean on some growth character of forage maize under mixed cropping system. The experiment was designed in a randomized complete block design (RCBD). The treatments involved different combinations of soybean- maize mixture viz. Maize alone as a control (c), Maize and soybean as alternate holes (AH), Maize and soybean as alternate rows (AR), Maize and soybean as double rows (DR), in for replications. Different characters measured were plant height number of leaves/plant, number of intre nodes/plant, stem diameter (cm), fresh weight (g), and dry weight (g). The result showed no significant different among treatments for growth attributes of maize, while there was significant difference for stem diameter. en_US
