dc.description.abstract This is a descriptive cross-sectional study.Aimed to estimated plasmacalcium and uric acid levels in Sudanese hypertensive patientsin which sixty samples were collected from patients with hypertension and forty samplesas control (non hypertension). The patients samples were collected from Aldosogi specialized hospitalduring period from March (2014) to July (2014) levels of plasma calcium and uric acid were measured in each group by methylthymol blue (MTB) and uricase/peroxidase for uric acid. This study showed a significant decrease in the mean of plasma calcium levels in patients when compared with control group (8.2 0.46mg/dl) versus (8.8 0.44) respectively with (P-value 0.049). Result of uric acid indicated insignificant increase when compared mean of patients with mean of control group. (5.4 0.90 mg/dl) versus (5.2±0.83 mg/dl) (P-value 0.126). The present study showed therewas weak positive correlation between uric acid and duration (r= +0.2)(P-value 0.126). The present study showed therewas weak negative correlation between calcium and duration (r= - 0.3) (P-value 0.049). So renal function tests and Measuringof hormones regulating calcium homeostasis should be checked regularly in hypertensive patient s, especially in those with prolonged period of the disease. en_US
