Assessment of the Relationship Between European Foundation of Quality Management Excellence Model

Abstract

This study was carried out in Sudan Khartoum state during 2012 to evaluate the relationship between EFQM excellence model criteria applied by some of Sudanese business units to examine in depth the linkages between the EFQM criteria answering the research questions of significant relationship between the enabler set and the result set. also to test the accuracy of correlations for two successive years of participation As quality is addressed as powerful tool by all types of organizations to support an improvement of competitiveness, many of Sudanese business Units adopt EFQM excellence model in order to achieve excellence therefore they have to be aware the impact of excellence model criteria on each other that is why this research about The relationship between EFQM excellence model criteria applied by some of Sudanese business units was chosen also to verify all the lay down hypothesis and prove there is statistically significant relationship between various criteria of model , Although there is a lagging of Sudanese business units applying the EFQM excellence model in their way towards excellence I could manage to collect the assessment scores for each criterion of the model for successive two years, and they were analyzed by using descriptive statistics- by SPSS program. The linear correlation coefficient measure the strength of this relation and the value of sig. prove the significant relationship .Also the mean, Std deviation and T-test results for successive years of 2009 &2010 were calculated. The results of 2010 gain more weight for each criterion. The results obtained find out the results of correlation coefficients that show the true statistically significant relationship between EFQM model criteria, also declare significant difference between the mean values. Generally there is indication of improvement and progress among the various business units by adopting EFQM excellence model& starting of those Sudanese business units the long way journey towards excellence. The recommendations of the study is to carry out further in-depth studies of how the various criteria are interrelated in differ types §ors business units specially for the Sudanese organizations and generally around the world for benchmarking .Also the executives can pritorize the areas of improvements along with action plans for these areas.
