Abstract:
This study was conducted with the aim to investigate the role of Social Development Foundation for its current microfinance services for small farmers in Khartoum State through Altadamon Credit and Saving Society.
Primary data collected through questionnaire represented by 17.5 % for members whom practice agricultural activity mong others productivities activities, furthermore, data from secondary sources relevant to the study.
The study applied descriptive statistic analysis procedure to explain socio-economic characteristics for microfinance clients and institutional performance for Altadamon Credit and Saving Society (ACSS). Also used calculation cash flow analysis to explain range of small enterprises profitability.
Results showed that majority of microfinance clients were in age scale consider economically active, and they were educational, married and support families, also results showed most of loans duration were short term loan, that means it ignore the rest of microfinance services such as (savings, insurance, …etc). Finance mode is Salam formula. The study showed Social Development Foundation facilitated obtains procedures of small loans and encouragement individuals and groups that are limited income. They require collateral and conditions for loans in order to guarantees to face loan defaults cases, besides that study depends on minimize profit margin to help for increasing individual’s income.
The study recommended that Altadamon Credit and Saving Society and Social Development Foundation to implement microfinance indicators to present good microfinance services and practice microfinance by good matter, with include all financial operations and adopted all conditions and methods that help to achieve microfinance objectives and could acceptable for microfinance clients.
