| dc.description.abstract | In this study, phenolic compounds were extracted from Hagenia abyssinca and ziziphus abyssinica using 95% ethanol. The crude extracts obtained from seeds of Hagenia abyssinica, and ziziphus abyssinica were subjected to paper chromatography using 50% Acetc acid (Hagenia abyssinica)and butanol: acetic acid: water (4:1:5).for ziziphus abyssinica .In this way compound I( a flavanone) was isulated from Hagenia abyssinica , while compound II(a flavone) was obtained for Ziziphus abyssinica . The IR spectra gave the expected bands for both compounds .UV studies illustrated the hydroxylation pattern of the isolated phytochemicals. | en_US |
