This study was conducted to isolate some pathogenic bacteria from  raw milk and to  assess  the  risk  factors  associated  with milk  consumption  in the seven localities of Khartoum state (Khartoum, Jabal Awlia, Bahry, Sharg alnil, Omdurman, Ombadda, Karary) . Atotal of 102 samples of raw cow milk were collected in winter , summer and autumn seasons from December 2018 to October 2019  from milk equipment , udders of milking cows, and venders, the samples were  analyzed and examined  for detection of coliform bacteria and some  pathogens contaminate raw milk  causing  milk borne diseases and  effect  on  public health .The  isolates were identified morphologically and biochemically and the results revealed that examined samples showed growth of Gram  negative bacteria (233 isolates) and recorded ,  Escherichia spp. 75(32.19%),  Klebsiella spp. 30(12.88%) Salmonella spp.15(6.44%), Shigellaspp. 20(8.58%), Proteus merabilis 37(15.88%), Proteus spp 29(12.45%).and  Pseudomonas  spp.7(11.58%) .  According to the source of collection the isolates  were 65(27.9%)  from the udders , 93(40%) from equipment , and 75(32.1%) from vendors and this  indicated high contamination in milk equipment . According to the seasons  the isolates were  35(15.0%)  in winter, 66(28.3%) in summer , and 132(56.7%) in autumn respectively .In conclusion  the contamination of milk by bacteria is high because of this dairy workers need more awareness about sanitary measures. &#13;

This study was carried out to investigate the veterinary drug residues problem and the potential risk factors associated with it in Tambool area. Five hundred and seventy-four tissue samples (liver, muscle, lung and kidney) were collected at different seasons from 162 camels from Tambool slaughterhouse. One_Plate microbiological test for antibacterial drug residues was used for screening these samples. Forty-two camels (25.9 %) were positive for risk of veterinary drug residues. For the tissue samples, the results showed that there is no association with potential risk factors except in season (chi-square 80.9, P-value ˂ 0.000) with a highly significant difference in logistic regression of Autumn (Exp (B) 45.9, P-value ˂ 0.000) which also showed the highest percentage of positive camel samples (22.2 %). Out of 574 tissue samples, 64 showed a zone of inhibition ≥ 2 mm (35 livers, 13 muscles, 13 lungs and 3 kidneys) and 120 samples showed a zone of inhibition ˂ 2 mm. The liver revealed the highest mean zone of inhibition (2.79 mm) from the edge of the sample in Autumn, and this is an indication of the misuse of veterinary drugs in that season, which will clearly affect the health of consumers so the animal resource ministry should pay attention and put emphasis on the development of a rapid test for antimicrobial residues and national monitoring and controlling programs must take place.

The study was designed to evaluate food safety knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) in poultry slaughterhouses in Khartoum State (Khartoum, Bahri and Omdurman localities), Sudan. A randomized descriptive cross-sectional study on food safety KAP was conducted among a total of 180 respondents (60 for each locality). Anon-probability multistage clusters sampling method was used.The  results revealed that 100.0% of workers said true for using gloves, washing hands, cyclical medical checkup and clearing equipment. Whereas, the respondents in 3 localities   (20.0%, 43.3%, and 20.3%)  don’t aware of chilling degree and have no idea about important of training (0.0%, 3.4% and 0.0%). While highest percentage of the workers aware for risk of contamination of food through eating and drinking during food processing (100.0%, 96.7% and 94.9%).  In conclusion, unclear information on knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) of workers in poultry meat industry may constitute public health concern. Hence, more attention by local authorities is required particularly on the issue of regulations as well as increasing the awareness of the workers.

This study had been done to estimate the knowledge and awareness of dairy workers and the consumers of milk about milk borne diseases associated with milk contamination and effect on public health, the study done from July 2018 to July 2020 in Khartoum state. A total of 200 respondents were selected randomly(30 dairy holders, 50 farm workers, 25 milk sellers, and 95 milk consumers) using structural questionnaire with questions consisting demographic  characters of the respondents from the seven localities of Khartoum state (Khartoum, Jabal Awlia, Sharg alnil, Bahry, Umdurman, Umbadda, Karary). The results revealed that the age 18-45 years in dairy holders were 13(43.3%), milk farmers 40(80.0%), milk sellers 17(68.0%), and milk consumers were 20(21.0). Most of the respondents were studied primary education .About 143(79.17%) of them were known milk borne diseases,but 57(20.83%)were not known the disease. The incidence of the infection by consuming raw milk was 16.7% in dairy holders, 46.0% in milk farmers, 8.0% in milk sellers, and 30.5%in consumers. From the results we can concluded that most of the respondents were knowing the milk borne diseases, but they are showing poor unsatisfactory awareness by practicing of hygienic measures.
