The development of the Purkinje fibre (PF) of the camel foetus was studied in&#13;
dromedary camel foetuses during the three gestational periods. A total of 30 hearts&#13;
were used, the hearts were collected from Tamboul and Al-Salam slaughterhouses,&#13;
Sudan. The samples were prepared by routine histological procedures and stained by&#13;
the general histological stain (H&amp;E) and special stains. In the first trimester PF were&#13;
embedded in cardiac muscle fibres close to the ventricular endocardium. In second&#13;
trimester, some of PF were embedded in the connective tissue, some fibres contained&#13;
two nuclei. The striation was clear in peripheral parts of some fibres. At 178 second&#13;
trimester days of gestation most of fibres contained two nuclei and the cytoplasm&#13;
around the nuclei was light. At the third trimester PF appeared as bundles of fibres&#13;
parallel to myocardial muscles. They were also embedded in the endocardial&#13;
connective tissue as groups or separate fibre. They were embedded in the myocardium&#13;
in the first trimester and either between the endocardium and myocardium or within&#13;
the myocardium in the second and third trimesters. It was concluded that most of&#13;
Purkinje fibres were not found in their normal location till the last stages of&#13;
pregnancy, which means that PF continue their developmental changes after birth.

Respiratory diseases of camel especially pneumonia continue to be a major problem&#13;
commonly encountered in camel. In this study, 45 pneumonic lungs from one&#13;
humped camels with different sex and ages ranging from six months to 15 years and&#13;
originated from different states of the Sudan including Kassala, Al Gedarif, Kordofan&#13;
and Darfur these were subjected to isolation, identification of bacteria and&#13;
determination of the pathological changes. The isolates were then fully confirmed by&#13;
biochemical identification using conventional and automated techniques including&#13;
API kits and automated system Vitek2 Compact. 80 bacterial isolates were recovered,&#13;
they were: 15 (18.75%) S. aureus, 7 (8.75%) S. epidermedius, 5 (6.25%) S. warrner,&#13;
1 (1.25%) S. heamolyticus, 6(7.5%) Str. pneumonia, 5(6.25%) Str. pyogenes,&#13;
1(1.25%) Str. suis 11(13.75) E. coli, 3(3.75%) Coryneulcerans, 1(1.25%) C.&#13;
amycolatum, 1(1.25%) Actinomyces naeslandii, Actinomyces pyogenes, 9(11.25%) K.&#13;
pneumonia, 7(8.75%) Ps. aeruginosa, 2(2.5%) Aeromonas salmonicida, 1(1.25%)&#13;
Burkhorder iacepacia, 2(2.5%) Bacillus spp and 1(1, 25%) Flacklamia homonis. The&#13;
histopathological changes were emphysema with an incidence of 25 (55.6%),&#13;
atelectasis in 24 (53.3%), haemorrhge in 20 (44.4%), oedema in 19 (42.2%) ,&#13;
inflammatory changes represented by fibrinous pneumonia in 25 (55.6%), purulent&#13;
bronchopneumonia in 13 (28.9%), Aspiration pneumonia in 10 (22.2%), interstitial&#13;
pneumonia 9 (20%) and abscesses in 4 (8.9%) and Tumors in 3 (6.7%). Pneumonia&#13;
is known in camel as complex multifactorial disease in which bacterial, viral,&#13;
mycoplasma and fungal infections combine with other predisposing factors such as&#13;
rearing systems, stress factors, climatic changes, and unhygienic conditions.&#13;
Identification of the pneumonic pathogens in the present work cleared that Staph.&#13;
aureus, was the most pneumonic bacteria isolated from lung tissue at rate of 18.75%

The present communication described two cases of cavernous haemangioma in the&#13;
liver of one humped camels (Camelus dromaderius) in the Sudan. Two samples were&#13;
diagnosed in a (four year old camel from Kassala and 13years old camel from West&#13;
Sudan) female camel. Physical examination of the liver revealed small erythematous&#13;
papules on the liver surface. Microscopical examination of the liver revealed dilated,&#13;
irregular vascular spaces lined by single layer of endothelial cells supported by&#13;
fibrous septa and showing numerous papillary enfolding. The line of demarcation&#13;
between the tumor and normal hepatic tissue was well defined the normal hepatic&#13;
parenchyma atrophic and an irregular or spongy interface with an ill-defined margin.

The survey was conducted through a questionnaire and guided interviews with camel&#13;
owners in selected regions around the five main towns of the Elgufra (Waddan, Hun,&#13;
Soukana, Zalla and Fougaha) in central Libya. In this study, a questionnaire was&#13;
designed to investigate camel herd composition and estimation of milk yield of shecamels&#13;
in different age groups and in different seasons under traditional production&#13;
system. The collected data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics. The result of&#13;
the study showed that, the percentages of the herd structure decreased as the camels&#13;
age group increased, they were 13.1%, 13.4%, 11.6%, 10.2%, 9.6%, 8.5%, 7.2%,&#13;
7.2%, 6.3%, 6.3% and 6.7 % for age groups less than year, 2years, 3 years, 4 years,&#13;
5years, 6years, 7 years, 8 years, 9 years, 10 years and more than 11 years respectively.&#13;
The study showed that Waddan area was recorded higher percentages than the other&#13;
areas in herd structure for first age and second group. In the third group (3 years )&#13;
there were variations in the herd structures, Soukana was the least percentage in herd&#13;
structure and Hun was the highist. In the age groups between 7 to 11 years there were&#13;
variations in the structure in Algufra.
