Analysis of University Staff’s Attitudes on MA Students in Grasping Economic Terms Mohamed, Aya Mustafa Ahmed; Alshingeeti, Mohamed Elaameen; Badawi, Abbas Mukhtar Mohamed The purpose of this study is to investigate the point of view of teaching staff on difficulties that encountered by MA students in translating economic texts from English into Arabic. The samples were collected from the English Language and Translation teaching staff at the University of Bahri, College of Languages, Sudan University of Science and Technology, Cambridge University, and Mashreq University. Because translating the economic text is challenging for MA students, the university should provide them with an updated syllabus. Furthermore, because knowledge of the economic background facilitates the process of translating the economic text, the university should implement an economic syllabus lecture for students. Correct economic translation, on the other hand, is dependent on translation practice. As a result, MA students must practice more written translation in order to improve their translation skills. The sample of this study consist of (30) teachers. The questioner was designed as a tool for this study. The researcher used (SPSS) program to analyze the data. The findings of the study revealed that: Linguistic problems frustrated students to communicate orally, the friendly relationship between teachers and students helps learners’ oral performance, and also Students use gesture to overcome the lexical item difficulties. The researcher recommends that: Teachers should make real communication in the classroom to improve students’ performance. Also teachers should attract the learners’ attention by using body language. The Difficulties in Understanding Strong and weak forms, in Listening to Native Speakers in English Language. Yagoob, Adam Mohamed Ishag; El Shingeeti, Mohamed Al Amin; Yagoub, Wijdan This study was conducted in University of Zalingei in (2017) aimed to investigate the impact of learning strong and weak forms perception in process of listening to native speakers, speech for third year students’ ability in understanding such sounds of grammatical words in connected speech. The researcher used the analytical descriptive approach, first data collected through to audio test for (50) students who are listening to English native speakers. Second information from books and relevant sources and the researcher demonstrated the following outcomes. 80% of 3rd year students have some difficulties in listening to connected speech regarding the perception of weak forms of grammatical functional words in English Language. 60% of wrong answers of the respondents due to the lack of competence as their scores are very low in some sentences and high in others. 50% of their performance in answering the questions show that students are unaware of the reduction rules that govern the use of this category of words in natural spoken English. 55% methods of teaching always focus on the pronunciation level only and ignore the learning of these forms, which might have contributed to this state in English phonetics and phonology. 70% Of the third year students have problems of sound perception was the result of low exposure, familiarity, and training to listening of the connected speech sounds in English language learning.
