dc.description.abstractThis survey was conducted in Jabel Awlia Dam fishery (JADF) in the White Nile River, Khartoum state to know efficiency of cast nets (Taraha) used. Information collected by questionnaire and field surveys. Results showed that cast nets were intensively and widely used in (JADF): which cropped more than one kilogram from one catch per haul by cast net from different kind of fish species (dominated by Tilapia species). Also, the findings revealed that, some fisherman use boats which were made from Iron. The average net length depended on the place of fishingen_US
