dc.description.abstractThis study aimed to assess the relationship between food consumption awareness and nutritional status of families depending on the family educational level, work, food diversification in feeding pre-school children (3- 6) years, practices (breast feeding, supplementary feeding, weaning foods) in Glaia’s villages, South Shendi Administrative River Nile State. The study explained the problem; at Sudanese rural areas there is no enough health and nutrition information especially for mother so that appear on child nutritional status and clearly at pre-school age. The main objectives were; to improve nutritional and health awareness among mothers, to make this know about good nutritional attitudes and practices among mothers and pre school teachers, and to evaluate and straighten nutritional status of pre-school children. Hypothesis were; Family health status affected by nutritional awareness, the relationship between food fashion, family income and family nutritional status, mother education has positive effect on child nutritional status, and the occupation of mother has a consequent bad effect on her child medical status. Methodology and research procedures, including research method, case study; using the descriptive method, and tools employed are opened and closed questionnaires for mothers including interviews for nutritionist in Shendi hospital and pre-schools teachers, measuring (weight for height) for children and hemoglobin level. The results have been analyzed by the statistical method (SPSS), using percentage, mean chi-squire test and t-test. showing and discussing the results and tested hypothesis which explained the relationship between mother food consumption awareness and rural family nutritional and health status reveals that, there is no affection ١١ Educational level of mother have no effect;(11.8%) graduates, (29.4%) secondary, (11.8%) intermediate, (35.3%) primary, and (11.8%) are illiterates. Also mother occupation has no affection only (17.6%) are working, and (82.4%) house wives, so the stability of mother at home has positive indirect effect. If is concluded that food consumption awareness has no relationship with family health status, and mainly depends on food abundance.en_US
