Abstract: This study aims primarily to identify the phenomenon of extinction of languages which is no doubt caused by many factors. In second place, the study focused on the definition of the Sudanese Nubian language, and its relation to the Arabic language. To achieve this study, the researcher adopted a descriptive and analytical approach. The study included three chapters: The first chapter discusses the geographical and linguistic diversity and multilingualism in Sudan. The second chapter defines some terms addressed by the study. The third chapter deals with the development of the Nubian language of Sudan and its relation to the Arabic language, and the causes that lead to the extinction of languages. In this study, the researcher studied the Sudanese Nubian language; aiming at investigating its status and then clarifying the differences between the terms of Nubia and the Nubians. This study found that the mobility of the population for several factors; was a major reason for the extinction of languages.
