In this study, (Pressure Vessels Design and Failure Analysis) the calculation of the thickness and stress of the basic components has been done using the procedure that has been followed in ASME code and other related standards. The design study covers specific vessels which are the separators, heat exchangers and boilers. For all vessels, and through the calculations the study shows that, the maximum general primary membrane stress is less than the allowable stress outlined in the material section. Further, and as stated in the codes/standards, the maximum primary membrane stress plus primary bending stress should not exceed 1.5 time allowable stress of the material sections. The calculated values of the thickness and stress have fully analyzed and associated with the vessel service and location. For a proper design and analysis of the pressure vessels, the study shows various types of stress and loadings in order to accurately apply the result of the analysis. Also, it considers some adequate stress and failure theory in order to combine the stresses and set the allowable stress limits. The stress analysis and the determination of the relationship between external forces applied to the vessels and correspondence stress has been stated. Finally, the study shows the factors that can cause equipment's failure, including the corrosion, materials of construction, component wear and fretting, thermal loads and their stresses .en_US
