Abstract: Fuzzy logic control (FLC) is one of the three basic approaches to intelligent control, the others are : knowledge-based expert systems and neural networks. In this thesis, the differences between classical control and intelligent control theories were introduced, including the control system design procedure for each. The main objective of this thesis is to illustrate the basic structure of FLC controllers and their different ways of implementations. The system is designed with different control techniques to control temperature at different set points changes and as well as to control sudden input disturbances. The results of fuzzy controller compared with the results of classical PID controller shows superior of FLC over the classical PID controller.
