Study of Environmental & Recreational Values of Khartoum Sunt Forest

Abstract

This study was conducted at Khartoum Sunt forest. The main objective of the study is to investigate the 9 environmental values and recreational values of Khartoum Sunt forest. For data collection, secondary data was obtained from reports, records, related studies, the primary data is meetings and discussions with officials. A questionnaire was prepared to collect and the target groups were the forest visitors, farmers, officers and others. The study found that the number of the visitors was increasing, Themajority of respondent were students, and other came for recreational purposes. majorityof the respondents stated emphasized the important values of the forest.The study concluded that according to the precipitation of the respondents Khartoum Sunt forest reduced air pollution, absorbed dust and smoke, provided habitat for migratory birds, waste baskets, and resident home for criminals sieves and drugs as stated by .the respondents The study recommended that to enhance infrastructure to make the forest convenient location of recreation more for and establish comfortable and Khartoum population, and broad leave evergreen trees urban should be .planted in areas that visited by people
