Abstract: | The purpose of this work is to study the reservoir response and the significant increase in recovery factor (RF) from a shallow unconsolidated reservoir with high porosity and containing high viscous oil with low density, by applying enhanced oil recovery (EOR) technologies, in a Sudanese reservoir. I studied the feasibility of cyclic steam stimulation (CSS) application. In addition to determine optimum steam injection rate, and to know if enhanced oil recovery (EOR) technique viable to apply as first production stage in a Sudanese reservoir and to measure how much viscosity was reduced. The methods carried out are included Sudanese field data gathering, reservoir characteristics, oil properties, and then studied steam parameters affects in crude oil behavior and analyze data with thermal testing interpretation software. The results of the study was that cyclic steam stimulation (CSS) application in Sudanese (DH) oilfield, indicated increasing in productivity, and also the cumulative oil production from the four (4) candidate increased of 125% in oil production compared with conventional production method. |
