Preeclampsia is a pregnancy related syndrome; it is one of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, associated with different organ involvement, marked by new onset hypertension and proteinurea. This is case control study aimed to assess uric acid level and blood urea nitrogen creatinine ratio in preeclamptic Sudanese women in period of time between March to June 2022. One hundred thirty pregnant ladies included, (80) were diagnosed with preeclampsia and (50) were non preeclamptic normal pregnant ladies, levels of uric acid, urea and creatinine were measured, blood urea nitrogen and blood urea nitrogen creatinine ratio were calculated, statistical analysis for data was done using statistical package of social science (SPSS) software program version 20. Results show significant increase in uric acid level among preeclamptic (7.11±2.08 mg/dl) compared to normal pregnant group (3.65 ± 1.06 mg/dl) with P. value (0.000). Levels of urea, creatinine and blood urea nitrogen were significantly increased in the preeclamptic comparing to the normal pregnant P. value (0.001, 0,022 and 0.001) respectively, yet their values still within normal limit. Blood urea nitrogen creatinine ratio showed insignificant increase in the preeclampsia group (14.92 ± 5.56) compared to non preeclamptic normal group (12.91 ± 7.32) with P. value (0.099), There is insignificant correlation between age of the preeclamptic women and uric acid nor age and blood urea nitrogen creatinie ratio. The study conclude that: plasma uric acid increase in preeclampsia independent to the age effect, study also found the blood urea nitrogen creatinine ratio is within normal range in preeclampsia.en_US
