Abstract: This study aims at investigating the Effect of Errors of Tense and Aspect on the Academic Essay- writing that encounters Sudanese university undergraduates. The researcher has just adopted the descriptive and analytical methods, quantitative and qualitative approaches along with the (SPSS) programme for analyzing the data collection to come to transparent scientific output. To test the study hypotheses, the data collection were a questionnaire that involved fifty (50) university teachers and pre- and post- tests were given to the students to diagnose their errors in Tense and aspect. Besides, five Ph.D. validators were participated in this study. The analysis of the study’s tools comes up to the conclusion accompanied by certain findings, recommendations and suggestions for further studies. One of the most essential findings is that the students truly have errors of Tense and Aspect on their academic essays. They also don’t have background of the knowledge of error analysis as well as they lack techniques of error corrections. Moreover, the study has recommended that teachers and students should have adequate techniques and strategies to deal with these grammatical errors. Lastly, the students ought to have ample practice of exercises and drills of tense and aspect integrated with an account of essays.
