dc.description.abstractThis study is focused on the optical properties of p-type semiconductor Nano copper oxide (CuO) prepared by Sol-gel method. The optical characteristics have been investigated by UV/Vis spectrophotometer in the wavelength range (200 – 900) nm. The Nano copper oxide exhibits high absorbance values atultraviolet region which they decrease rapidly in the visible/ near infrared region .The Nano copper oxide have a direct allow electronic transition with optical energy (Eg) values increased from (2.271) eV to (2.416) eV for allowed energy gap. The maximum value of the refractive index (n) for all Nano copper oxides are given about 2.15.en_US
