In this research, concrete mixes were tested to investigate the effect of steel slag, and Acacia tortillas on the shear strength performance of concrete. An experimental study was carried out to test for the shear strength of concrete for 30 mixes each mixture was casted in the form of concrete beams and were studied for 7 and 28 days, one of those mentioned mixes is a (control mix). Finally, the results are compared with the normal conventional concrete (control mix). The main aim of this investigation is first to achieve a compressive strength of 40MPa with locally available and then to study the effect of different proportion of steel slag as fine and coarse aggregate replacement and acacia tortillas as an additive in separated mix on the concrete shear strength and to find the optimum range of the effective proportion. The various proportions considered are 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% of steel slag, and steel slag powder as a replacement for the coarse, and fine aggregate in separated mix, and other using acacia tortillas as an additive with various proportions considered are 0.2%.0.3%,0.4%,0.5% from the weight of cement. The research shows that the effect of steel slag as a replacement for the coarse aggregate had enhance the shear strength of concrete by 29% in 28 days using 60% of steel slag, while the steel slag powder as a replacement for fine aggregate have enhance the shear strength by 21.18% in 28days using 60% of powder steel slag, also using acacia tortillas as an additive by 0.4% of the weight of cement have enhanced the shear strength by 21.23% all compared to the controlled mix or zero mix.en_US
