Abstract: Mica group of sheet silicate (phyllosilicate) minerals includes several closely related materials having nearly perfect basal cleavage. All are monoclinic, with a tendency towards pseudohexagonal crystals, and are similar in chemical composition. The nearly perfect cleavage, which is the most prominent characteristic of mica, is explained by the hexagonal sheet-like arrangement of its atoms. This research deals with the applications of spectroscopy, which is the detection of some elements of the mica . Mica was used in several fields, including electrification, electronic and cosmetic, and in houses for decoration .the optical properties of two samples of mica were studied with a slight difference in thickness, namely absorbance, Absorption coefficient , reflectivity ,and transitivity , and there was a match in number of properties and slight differences in absorption properties, of the two samples with the recommendation to conduct more research and knowledge of many properties, including electrical properties such as conductivity whether it can be and converted to a substance of superconducting material using certain chemical ways .
