The present study seeks to explore the hurdles posed by technical translation for the MA students of translation. The aim is to suggest a practical technique to help the learners get about their work without making such glaring mistakes. The researcher adopted a mixed method of research (qualitative and experimental) with aim of arriving at solid concrete conclusion. The researcher also tried to clarify certain aspects about the nature of technical translation in relation to other types of translations particularly the scientific translation. Some of the misconceptions in connection with technical translation especially the misleading comparison with scientific translation have been considered with exemplification from English and Arabic. To collect data, the researcher used a diagnostic test and a post test as well as questionnaire for the teachers of translation. The collected data have been analyzed statistically (SPSS) and solid results have been drawn. One of such results the study has shown is that technical translation places such a burden on translators and calling for particular type of translators unlike other genres of translation. Hence tutors have to rely on excessive drilling and training to bridge the gap.en_US
