dc.description.abstractThis study aimed to investigate the use of collocations to improve trainee teachers communicative competence and the difficulties that faced trainee teachers in mastering collocations, and the role of collocations in improving the level of communicative competence of the trainee teachers of Secondary schools at Sudan National Centre for languages Batch (44) 2012-2019. In order to empower trainee teachers to be aware of teaching collocations as found in the courses they intend to teach, the at both levels basic and secondary levels. The researcher adopts the descriptive analytical method in which two tools of data collections were used namely a questionnaire and a diagnostic test. The study managed to come up with a number of results such as the use of authentic language in classrooms ,can have such effects as improving learners‟ communicative language and made suggestions and recommendations for future studies such as Tutors should be trained to handle their classes in a way that promotes their students‟ communicative competence particularly in the area of collocations and collocations can be carried out on relatively larger scales as to include a number of universities.en_US
