This work focuses on the use of nanoparticles (NPs) within doping in semiconductors .The purpose of this dissertation is the effect of doping Copper (II) Oxide (CuO) (0.3, 0.5, 0.7 and 0.9) % on the optical characteristic of Gum Arabic material. Sol gel method was used to synthesize Copper (II) Oxide (CuO) NPs. The precipitated compounds were characterized by UV–Vis spectroscopy .The results showed that the optical reflection of the four sample of Gum Arabic doped by Copper Oxide (CuO) (0.3, 0.5, 0.7 and 0.9) % displayed characteristic of Reflectance peak at the wavelength around 430 nm. The results showed that the optical energy gap (Eg) of the four samples of Gum Arabic doped by Copper (II) Oxide (CuO) (0.3, 0.5, 0.7 and 0.9) % are (2.845, 2.848, 2.851, 2.853) eV respectively, it also reveals that increasing of Copper (II) Oxide (CuO) (0.3, 0.5, 0.7 and 0.9) % result increasing of the optical energy gap (Eg). It was observed that the different Copper (II) Oxide (CuO) molar for CuO samples confirmed the reason for the band gap shifts, and also in absorption shows that the value of (α) with four samples of Gum Arabic doped by Copper (II) Oxide (CuO) (0.3, 0.5, 0.7 and 0.9) % decrease while the index of doping increased, extinction coefficient (K) value is decreased when the doping increased.en_US
