Abstract: | Medical device is the key factor in making decision for patients; it is an important component in healthcare system, the development of new medical technologies can improve its ability of diagnoses and treatment. One of the most important steps of medical device life cycle is procurement and logistics which is regulated by federal ministry of health (FMOH). The most serious problem that encounters the tender procurement process in Sudan is that it is still paper based system. The mentioned problem is mainly found in the traditional tender procurement process which is hard and time consuming due to the complexity, human error and the tender documents may be lost or damaged. Online Medical Devices Tender Logistics Management Information System develops regulations on medical devices procurement procedures and promotes accountability and transparency. Online Medical Devices Tender Logistics Management Information System that solved the above problem has been designed by using PHP language and Microsoft My SQL database that was ran on windows based operating system, the proposed system has screens that represent the main procurement and logistics activities in the national biomedical engineering department, then PHP codes was used to connect the data base with system’ screens. Online Medical Devices Tender Logistics Management Information Systemcreates an integration of information for procurement and logistics, additionally helps in decision making to improve the medical device life cycle which leads to fulfill optimal medical services. |
