dc.description.abstractMetallic nanoparticles of copper were synthesized by green methods using an aqueous solution of Solenostemma argel extract (The extract was mixed well with cupric Nitrate Trihydrat). The plant extract acts as both, the reducing and stabilizing agents. The prepared nanoparticles are found to be stable in the aqueous solution of the plant extract over 7months at room temperature (25C⁰). The prepared copper nanoparticles were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and UV-vis spectrum analysis. The scanning electron micrograph showed spherical nanoparticles in the range of 30-50 nm size. These nanoparticles exhibited surface Plasmon absorption resonance (SPR) in the visible region. Also, they exhibited interesting antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.en_US
