Abstract: The renal sinusis a space that forms the medial border of the kidney and is surrounded bythe renal parenchyma laterally. The renal arteries, veins, lymphatic vessels, nerve fibers, renal pelvis andmajor and minor calices are located within the renal sinus. This is a cross sectional descriptive study conducted to evaluate the renal sinus fat among Sudanese population using computed Tomography, the study was conducted at CT department in AL-AMAL Hospital and ALBUGAA Hospital from January 2017 to April 2017. Random samples of fifty patients who referred to CT department with CTU request, 43 male and 7 female with different ageand they were overweight. All subjects were scanned; axial and sagittal cuts in addition to reconstructed coronal section were obtained to estimate the renal sinus fat by using ct number . The study revealed that the mean of right and left kidney diameter was (43.8) and (46.7) mm respectively. CT number for renal sinus fat was - 49.4.The Renal Sinus fat accumulation correlates with body height and weight. The quantity of fat in the renal sinus normallyand gradually increases with obesity. In conclusion, renal sinus fat accumulation can be measured using computed tomography. In this study, we observed that a single-slice measurement of renal sinus fat accumulation is correlated with volumetric renal sinus fat accumulation in both kidneys and body height and weight.
