Abstract: | Optical fiber systems are an important infrastructure for broadband communications around the world. Broadband signal transmission with less delay is a major requirement in today's applications. Optical fibers provide unprecedented high bandwidth for data transmission with low latency and high data rates in telecom networks. There are difficulties in installing, maintaining and changing the repeaters, especially in Submarine cables, as they need specialized ships to perform the task. pushed in this research to reduce the repeaters by increasing the distance while maintaining the quality of the signal. The research is based on the optiwave simulation program and the study of the various factors that affect the Repeater spacing. Designing circuits that contain a transmission, Receiver and intermediate of the fiber optical by using optiwave simulation program. Recorded the signal in the receiver, then reduce the attenuation and increase the length of the cable until get the same previous signal and record the increase of the cable length, do the same previous experiment by recording the signal in the Receiver, then connecting the Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifiers (EDFA), and also increasing the length of the cable until get the same previous signal, thus got an estimated increase in the length of the optical fiber cable from the two above experiments. This means optimization repeater’s spacing which leads to achieve the main goal of research by reducing equipment and cost. |
