dc.description.abstractPictures have a vital role in teaching and learning English as a foreign language. Teachers use pictures as a teaching instrument in order to facilitate the learning process. These pictures can be taken from different sources such as the internet, books, magazines and others. The objective of this paper is to measure the impact of using picture based activities on enhancing oral communication among Sudanese basic schools Pupils. The study adopted the descriptive analytical method and a questionnaire was used to collect data from (40) EFL teachers at basic schools. (SPSS) was used to analyze data. The paper found that: Pictures affect students' oral skills, pictures are considered a flexible and visual instruction technique. The study recommended that: Teachers should use pictures based activities to enhance students' oral skills. Teachers should select coloured pictures in accordance with pupils' needs and interests.en_US
