This research was carried out to study the flavonoids of Pulcariacrispastem and oilsfromPortulacaoleracea,Coriandrumsativam andLinumusitatissimum. The stems of Pulcariacrispa were extracted with 95% ethanol at ambient temperature. Qualitative tests on the alcoholic extract were positive for flavonoids. Conventional chromatographic techniques were used for isolation and purification of flavonoids. Two flavonoids (compounds I and II) were isolated from this plant. The partial structures of both compounds were deduced on the basis of their: IR, UV and NMR data and the following structures were suggested: Compound I Compound II Evaluation of the antimicrobial activity of the ethanol extract and different fractions of Pulcariacrispawas carried. The results exhibited variable susceptibilities of microorganism for crude extract and different fractions. In this study, the antioxidant capacity of the alcoholic extract of Pulcriacrispawas screened. The extract showed significant antioxidant activity using the DPPH bioassay. GC-MS analysis of Portulacaoleracea,Coriandrumsativam andLinumusitatissimumwas conducted and different constituents were identified. The GC-MS analysis of the Portulacaoleracea,Coriandrumsativam andLinumusitatissimumoils revealed the presence of 15, 14, 15components respectively. In the agar diffusion bioassay oils ofPortulacaoleracea,Coriandrumsativam andLinumusitatissimumfailed to exhibit any antimicrobial activity. However,Coriandrumsativamoil showed significant antioxidant activity.en_US
