Abstract: After menopause, there is loss of ovarian function. This results in adverse changes in glucose and insulin metabolism, body fat distribution, coagulation, fibrinolysis and vascular endothelial dysfunction This cross-sectional study was carried out to investigate the levels of total protein, albumin, globulin, albumin globulin ratio among Sudanese menopasual females in Khartoum state. Fourty seven blood samples were collected from menopause women as case group and fourty seven blood samples were collected from pre menopause woman as control group from Khartoum state during the period from April toAugust 2018. The estimation of serum proteins was done by using bio systems BTS-305 then the result were analyzed by using SPSS computer program. Statistical analysis showed a significant decrease in serum total protein level in menopause (mean±SD: 5.89±0.28g/dl) when compared to control(7.09± 0.71g/dl)with p. value=0.000 also a significant decrease in serum albumin level in menopause (Mean±SD: 2.29±0.30 g/dl) when compared to control (3.97±0.46 g/dl ) with p. value=0.000,a significant decrease in serum globulin level in menopause (Mean±SD:2.97±0.34g/dl) when compared to control (3.97±0.46g/dl) with p. value=0.031 and a significant decrease in serum albumin globulin ratio level in menopause (Mean±SD:1.00±0.20g/dl ) when compared to control (1.29±0.24 g/dl) with p. value=0.000. Results showed no correlation between age of menopause and serum protein level (R=0.122, P=0.414) also no correlation between age of menopause and serum albumin level (R=0.051, P=0.735), also no correlation between age of menopause and serum globulin level (R=0.039, P=0.793) , and no correlation between age of menopause and serum albumin globulin ratio level (R=0.074, P=0.622). In conclusion: menopause women had decreased levels oftotal protein, albumin, globulin, albumin globulin ratio, with no correlation between age of menopause and total protein ,albumin, globulin, albumin globulin ratio and insignificant difference in total protein ,albumin, globulin, albumin globulin ratio according to duration of menopause.
