Role of Applying Total Quality Management Principles in Planning of Supply Chain management for purchase: Case study on Nile Paints Company

Abstract

The study aimed at identifying the impact of the application of the principles of total quality in the Nile Paints Company on the planning of supply chain management in procurement as well as the adoption of the concept of total quality and the level of evaluation of the efficiency of suppliers, in addition to the differences in the sample of the study on the application of the principles of total quality according to their differences in terms of (Gender, age, academic qualification, years of experience, and degree). To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher designed a questionnaire containing (24) paragraphs to collect the preliminary information from the sample of the study. The data were collected and the hypotheses were tested through the Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS) program, where a set of statistical methods was used for analysis such as chi squire, percentage, graphs. The study proved that there is a commitment from Nile Paints Company to apply the principles of total quality. Which were obtained by evaluating the suppliers based on the six criteria (Quality – Quantity –price – Payments – lead time –specification) in evaluating the efficiency of suppliers. There is a statistically significant correlation between the application of the principles of total quality and quality planning for supply chain management in procurement using control maps where the results proved that there is high efficiency in planning of supply chain management in procurement, In the future, studies have been recommended on TQM in supply chain management in terms of internal and external coordination and the adoption of comparative approaches in the industrial sector.
