The main aim of this study was to evaluate the grayscale and Doppler ultrasound of the ESWL patients. The study was conducted in the urology department in Ibn-Sina and Alamal Hospitals, Khartoum state, Sudan in the period between August 2015 and November2017.One hundred twenty-eight ESWL patients were included in the study in addition to twenty participants were included as control group. The data was collected using special data collection sheet and statistical package for social science soft was used to classify and analyze the data, which revealed that, the selected sample was (64.8%) for male and the female represents (35.2%) with mean age of (42.4±13.5) year for ESWL patients and (60%) for male and the female represents (40%) with mean age of) 49.5±16.4 (years for control group. The study revealed that there were significant differences between the normal group and the other groups in the number of sessions related to CMD and as well asthe presence of Hydronephrosis. While the dimensions of the kidney in the study was showed within the normal range average volume (cm3) measurement of the right and left kidney for ESWL patients were(98.6±24.4&124±58.0) respectively, while the measurement of the right and left kidney for the control group were (86.6±19.9&91.6±21.6) respectively and also the study revealed that there are no significant changes in RI on the ESWL treated kidney. The average of the blood flow measurement of RI of ESWL patients were (0.6±0.1&0.7±0.1) for right and left renal artery respectively, while the RI for the control group was (0.7±0.0) for right renal artery and (0.7±0.1) for the left renal artery. Ultrasound is valuable method in detecting renal changes after ESWL treatment that can predict possible renal damage by shock waves.en_US
