Abstract: | Wellbore instability is one of challenge is facing engineers during drilling the wells, the causes of wellbore are grouped under three interrelated headings ,Mechanical Wellbore Instability ,Rock- Chemical Interaction (shale) Instability and Man-Made Wellbore Instability. In this study we dealt with the problem that faced engineers in the field of ALRAWATT during the drilling of the ALRATTENA well by analyzing the case using commercial software. Through the analysis of the problem (caving), we conduct a Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) design using the software and Microsoft Excel for solving the problem. Through this study the best mud drilling fluid was chosen as well as the best design for Bottom Hole Assembly and preventing the caving. Finally, good understanding ofthe main causes of rock failure were established and reduction of drilling cost was obtained. |
