dc.description.abstractThis study aims at surveying pupils’ views on the use of L1 in the classroom, and how much Arabic they desired to be used in their classes. To achieve the set objectives, the study used descriptive method; it employed a questionnaire to address the study questions and objectives. 250 pupils completed the questionnaire. The study found out that pupils demonstrated positive attitude towards the use of L1 within English classes. It is also found that pupils desired about 20% to 40% of class time be used in Arabic language.en_US
