Formulation of a Tenting Gel and Cream using Natural Gums and Lawsonia inermis

Abstract

In this work formulation of Henna gel and cream were achieved. A blend of Gum Arabic and Karaya Gum was used along with Henna extract to formulate a paste for cosmetic and natural uses. The physical properties of the prepared Henna gel and cream were investigated and adjusted to improve their quality. The henna cream was prepared using Henna solution 5.75 % and Karaya gum 6.3% , the physical properties of the cream were determined, pH was equal to 4.55 and moisture was equal to 63.91%. The gel was prepared using Henna solution 5.75 %, Karaya gum 6.3% and gum arabic13.5% , the physical properties of the gel were determined, pH was equal to 4.48 and moisture was equal to 65.88%
