Shaped charge is an explosive with a hollow cavity in one end and detonator at the opposite end, it’s used to focus the energy of the detonation products at the certain point. The shaped charge jet formation depends on different parameters like explosive type, liner thickness, liner material and target material which can have effect on jet behavior such as jet velocity, jet breakup and perforation. In this work optimization of shaped charge parameters was done by using a proposed MATLAB code, AUTODYN simulation by using a powerful super computer and experimental methods in an area equipped with all tools and equipments needed. To validate the proposed MATLAB code the well known 85 mm PG7 shaped charge tested to highlight the efficiency of our MATLAB code and AUTODYN simulation. The results of optimization parameters of shaped charge for three different types of explosive TNT, RDX and Composition B explained that the RDX was the best explosive for oil well perforation, while the Steel confinement with 3.5 mm was better than Aluminum and Teflon in perforation while the Teflon was better in debris generation.en_US
